MGM Grand Garden Arena (originally known as the MGM Grand Garden Special Event Center ) is a multi-purpose arena located at MGM Grand Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip.

Since opening in 1993 until the opening of MGM, T-Mobile Arena in 2016, MGM Grand Garden Arena along with Thomas & amp; Mack Center is the main sports arena in the Las Vegas area.

The arena is famous for many professional superfight boxing, such as Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson II, Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather vs. SaÃÆ'ºl ÃÆ' larez and Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao.
From 1996 to 2000, he hosted the WCW Halloween Havoc PPV event. The UWF Blackjack Brawl television show was held at the venue in 1994.
In April 2016, the arena has hosted 40 Ultimate Fighting Championship events (starting with UFC 34 and last UFC 197).
On September 7, 1996, Bruce Seldon vs Mike Tyson was arrested here; That night, rapper Tupac Shakur (who attended the fight) was shot in a drive-by attack. He eventually succumbed to his injuries six days later.
On May 2, 2015 Floyd Mayweather Jr retained his title in the world in a highly anticipated match against fellow superstar Manny Pacquiao. The fight went on far and Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr retained his title. The face of sold-out audiences are fashion and entertainment icons like hip-hop artist Jay-Z, UFC boxer Ronda Rousey and former NBA basketball player Michael Jordan.
Arena has hosted many editions of WCW Monday Nitro.
Professional sports
In 1994, Las Vegas Dustdevils, indoor soccer team at Continental Indoor Soccer League played a season in the arena. It was also previously presented through 2015 as a pre-season home to choose a Los Angeles Kings match against the Colorado Avalanche, Phoenix Coyotes and San Jose Sharks, known as Frozen Fury. Two more matches took place in the new T-Mobile Arena before the launch of the NHL Vegas Golden Knights.
On October 24, 2014, MGM GGA hosted an NBA preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings.
College sports
During the 1990s, this arena served as a venue for the WAC women's volleyball tournament. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) held an annual World Finals event at MGM Arena from 1994 to 1998 before moving to Thomas & amp; Mack Center in 1999 and then to T-Mobile Arena in 2016.
On March 13, 2012, it was announced that Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament will take place in the arena from at least 2013 to 2016 and then to T-Mobile Arena from 2017 to 2020.
Starting in 2014, the MGM Grand Garden Arena will host the MGM Grand Main Event, an 8-team college basketball tournament held during the Monday and Wednesday Thanksgiving week of the men's NCAA Division I basketball season. MGM Grand Main Event features two four-team brackets, with each team playing two games in Las Vegas. Opening round game played on campus.

Awards show
MGM Grand Garden Arena hosts the Latin Grammy Awards in 2014, 2015 and last in 2017.
The venue also hosts the Academy of Country Music Awards on several occasions, including the 2018 event which will be the first after shooting Las Vegas 2017, which takes place about 1 mile away.
