Landseer is a breed of dog. This breed is not recognized by all kennel clubs. It's not to be confused with white and black Newfoundland, which is also often called "landseer".
This breed was named after the English painter Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, because in 1838 he created the painting of the Honorable Members of the Humane Society, which shows a dog of this breed.
