The SuperJet is a type of private vehicle stand (PWC) made by Yamaha Motor Corporation. Part of the WaveRunner waterway from Yamaha, introduced in 1990 and has become one of the most successful private boats ever built. All SuperJets, including engines, are handmade in Japan. Credit for design is given to Clayton Jacobson II.

Before the introduction of the new Kawasaki SX-R on October 6, 2016, it was the only stand-up sold by major manufacturers since the Kawasaki SX-R 800 was discontinued in 2011.

There are three generations of machines covering 1990-1993, 1994-1995, and 1996-2018, and three generations of stomach throughout 1990-1995, 1996-2007, and 2008-2018.

SuperJet models are currently powered by a two-cylinder inline 701cc engine, two steps.

All generations have an upper and lower hull built from SMC (sheet molded compound). SMC is a moldable composite composite material made of long strands of glass fiber suspended in polyester resins.

SuperJet 2008-2018 (SJ700BG-BT) [Generation 2-Hull Improvement]

The current SuperJet (produced by Yamaha Motor and handmade in Japan) has been visually similar since 1996. The 2008 model year is the first year of the new lower deck, altered for the first time in the history of SuperJet.

This ship no longer meets the two-step California or New York emission standards as a new vessel (however, vessels that were previously still registered in CA).

Buying a new SuperJet from a dealer will usually require a license from IJSBA as they are classified as "competition using only" boats due to strict EPA rules for a two-step PWC. The annual membership of IJSBA is $ 65 for the first year since May 2018, with renewal of $ 60 per year, if desired. This membership can be purchased from the dealer in most cases.

Body Updates

2008 only has the same round Roundnose deck introduced in 1996, with a new lower deck (or hull) combining the first change since 1990 when SuperJet was released.

The new bottom hull has included a side sponsor (similar to adding "Blowsion tubbies") to the stomach. The back of the hull is also a bit narrower and has a deeper turn for improved tracking.

The polar grip on SuperJet 2008 is 50 mm shorter than the previous generation SuperJet Roundness, which moves the rider forward slightly in the tray.

Mechanical Update

The intake plates, pumps, and pedestals are all set back 50 mm compared to the SuperJets last year.

The engine remains the same as the two-cylinder twin cylinders that could be relied upon as of previous 1996, with no mechanical changes.

The impeller was updated to a newly designed and stainless steel geometry for the first time, compared to previous aluminum designs that remained the same throughout 1990-2007. The new impeller design offers great improvements in installation as well as reduced pump room. The prop drive shaft turns into a constant diameter along the entire length to increase the stiffness, compared to previous years where it nears to a smaller diameter in the middle. However, the impeller is compatible with all older models and can be installed on any SuperJet year to replace the original aluminum impeller design.
