Histori
Fire-King was originally produced in the 1940s for everyday use, rather than on display. It is often sold in flour bags as promotional items or given at gas stations. Fire-King can also be purchased at local grocery stores and hardware. Some types of Fire King dishes are made; bowl nest, dessert bowl, glass beverage container, casserole plate, mug and more. An antique bowl bowl, produced by the Anchor Hocking Company, is one of the most sought after foods of this type.

Fire-King lines include bowls, casserole, glasses, plates, saucers, creamers, vases and more. Fire-King is not designed for the use of dishwashers, which can blur the original luster and eliminate any decorative paint applied.
Patterns and colors
There are many very popular decalled patterns including Blue Mosaic, Wheat, Primrose, Fleurette, Forget Me Not and Rose Anniversary. Patterns with solid glass colors are Swirl/Shell (1965-76), Sheaves of Wheat (Laurel 1952-63), Jane Ray, Alice, Fish Scale, Three Bands (1952-56) Restaurant Ware, 4000 Line and 1700 Line.
Jade-ite Restaurant Ware is most popular among several collectors. It is a cream colored jade. Martha Stewart popularized this pattern by using it on her TV show. In 2000, Fire-King was re-released by Anchor Hocking in Jade-ite. The pieces have been made from new prints and not the same as the older Fire-King items. They were also branded "Fire-King, 2000."
A good reference book on this is: Anchor Hocking's Fireking and More by Gene Florence. Collector's Guide to Removing Hocking's Fire King Glassware , by Garry and Dale Kilgo and Jerry and Gail Wilkins
The colors of the Fire-King solid glass come in red roses (pink beige), turquoise, azur-ite (pale blue), white, and ivory. It can also be a crystal layer that is fired in shades of pastel green, pastel blue, peach pastel, pastel yellow, primary orange, primary blue, primary yellow and primary green. This fired color is part of the Rainbow pattern. Rainbow is technically not Fire-King, but belongs to the same category as most collector books.
