Background and release
Marshall Jefferson wrote the lyrics for "Someday" and recruited Rogers to sing vocals after seeing him on show with 'Ce Ce & amp; Company'. Jefferson recorded Rogers warming vocals. When Rogers says he's ready to start recording the first shot, Jefferson tells him that they're done. It was the biggest vocal show Jefferson had ever heard on a dance record, but Rogers wanted to re-record it and he did it. Rogers signed for Atlantic Records, making "Someday" the first house-music song released by a major label. The track then sold millions, an important release for home music.
