Integrated Mixed Arts Martial Arts Rules
Before state sanctions, heavyweights are not mandatory because the competition is held without the approval of the athletic commission. For example, the Ultimate Fighting Championship introduces two heavyweights at UFC 12 : heavyweight, grouping competitors over à £ 200 (91 kg), and lightweight, grouping competitors under £ 200.
The weight division underwent many changes in subsequent years, but the promotional ability to decide on its own weight class finally disappeared after the athletic commission began to oversee mixed martial arts.
In 2000, the Integrated Mixed Martial Arts Rules were codified by the New Jersey State Athletics Commission. The California State Athletics Commission has worked extensively on the rules, but their sanctions against MMA have not been implemented due to the problems of the state government surrounding the process. California officially sanctioned the MMA on December 28, 2005, using rules that helped to design five years earlier.
Since then, to create uniformity, all state commissions in the United States that regulate mixed martial arts have assimilated these rules into their unarmed rules and combat competition laws. For promotions to hold mixed martial arts events at state-approved sites, promotions must adhere to the state's athletic rules body for weight restrictions.
The Unified Rules set limits for fourteen different weight classes in mixed martial arts; all definitions and measurements in pounds. Strawweight classes added in 2015. Super lightweight classes, super welterweight, super middle class, and cruiser classes were added in July 2017.

Outside the United States
Without state or government laws on heavyweight restrictions, organizations in other countries are free to schedule battles with little attention to weight differences. However, due to the increasingly competitive nature and the international sport, the weight limit has been determined by the promotion itself usually in line with the Integrated Rules, as maintaining the standard heavyweight is seen as fair and standard for all competitors.
Female â ⬠<â â¬
The weight limit on women's MMA mostly follows the limits of the Integrated Rules, but organizations that recognize women's championships typically have only a degree at the bottom of the table. UFC, for example, acknowledged the titles of women in the classes of weight classes, weight-bearing, and bullock classes. Some organizations that recognize the women's championship also sanction a separate atomic title with a limit of 105 pounds (48 kg).
