History

Chocolate cake made with chocolate. It could also include other materials. These include fudge, vanilla creme, and other sweeteners. The history of chocolate cake goes back to 1764, when Dr. James Baker found a way to make chocolate by grinding cocoa beans between two large circular milling stones. In 1828, Coenraad van Houten of the Netherlands developed a mechanical extraction method for extracting fat from a chocolate beverage which yielded cocoa butter and cocoa removed, a solid mass of solids that could be sold like "cacao stone" or soil to powder. The process of turning chocolate from an exclusive luxury into a cheap daily snack. The process of making more silk and refined chocolates called conching was developed in 1879 by Rodolphe Lindt and made it easier to roast with chocolate, as it joins the delicate and complete with the stick cake. Until the years 1890 to 1900, brown recipes mostly for chocolate drinks, and its presence in the pastries only in content and glaze. In 1886, American chefs began adding chocolate to cookie dough, to make the first chocolate cake in the US.

In the US, the "chocolate decadence" cake was popular in the 1980s; in the 1990s, a single liquid chocolate cake serving with a melting chocolate and chocolate center fitted with exotic flavors such as tea, curry, red chili, passion fruit, and champagne was popular.
